God is Good.

Reading: Psalm 100 & Exodus 33:12-34:35

God is good. This means God possesses “utter benevolence, complete absence of malice.” God’s goodness is shown to us through creation, his provision, his blessing and our salvation. He is the origin of all goodness and is himself wholly (infinitely, unchangingly) good. God’s goodness “radiates through all his attributes, making them a comfort not a terror.”

Reflection Questions

  • Do you believe this to be true?
  • When have you been awed by goodness? How can you use this experience to increase your awe of God?
  • How have you seen God’s goodness in your life?
