God is Holy.

Reading: Revelation 4

God is holy. This means “possessing utter purity of character.” God’s holiness is “the sum of all moral excellency…the antithesis of all moral blemish or defilement.” This means God is set apart and sacred, and his holiness is “so blinding, no one can look on Him and live.”

Reflection Questions

  • Do you believe this to be true?
  • When have you been awed by something set apart, sacred or pure? How can you use this experience to increase your awe of God?
  • How have you seen God’s holiness in your life?
